You’ve seen the evolution of the Bravest Warriors logo design, but today we want to show you the evolution of the Bravest Warriors themselves! According to showrunner Breehn Burns: In evolving Pen Ward’s designs of the four main characters from his original Bravest Warriors short, I worked with character designer Phil Rynda of Adventure Time to maintain the spirit of Pen’s drawings while also establishing something new.  I wanted the group to evolve past their “pure uniform,” anime-inspired look and into a casually futuristic style, so each character could express their personality with their clothes but still be ready for a fight. I was inspired by the way the X-Men have evolved over the years, from them all wearing the same thing to each having a distinct look.  Chris was the biggest challenge, because we were hunting for that iconic element that makes him instantly recognizable. In the end we chose to keep the oversized gloves from Pen’s design as his main quirk — he wears them all the time, even to bed. Another thing we kept were Danny’s eyebrows, so you can read his expression from a mile away. We were also very aware of working in a post-Adventure Time world. Pen’s Cartoon Network show is amazing, and the design has evolved a long way from his original short film (back when Finn was still named “Pen”). The challenge was to find our own style, while keeping in mind that designing these characters based solely on the Bravest Warriors short would be like designing Futurama based on the old Tracey Ullman Simpson’s shorts. Our show needs to take a step in its own aesthetic direction, and it keeps evolving beyond my expectations with every artist we bring in. So that’s how we got to the super cool (and stylish) Bravest Warriors we know and love today! What do you think of their final designs? Any thoughts on their older looks? Or maybe you have some designs of your own you’d like to share.  Then don’t forgot to let us know what you think, submit your design ideas as fan art, follow us on twitter and subscribe to our Cartoon Hangover YouTube channel for even more news on your Bravest Warriors! - Mike

And the award for cutest cast member goes to…Sam Lavagnino as Catbug (sorry Ian Jones-Quartey)! You may think that a risky statement to say around big name Hollywood actors, but in this case, I’m pretty sure that any of our cast members would have to agree - Sam Lavignino is so cute you just wanna put him in your pocket. Sam is six years old, has a budding career as an actor, and… well what more can we say? He hasn’t even tried a Philly cheesesteak yet! He has so much life ahead of him. Just look at this face and try to prepare yourself for even more of his adorableness tomorrow.

Good day Internet warriors! Today we want to share with you the evolution of the Bravest Warriors logo.  First we have the King of the Beardos Pen Ward’s concept logo. Next we have logo 2.0 from our very own Breehn Burns. And finally, the consummated version that you will see and love at the beginning of each episode, also from Breehn! What exactly inspired Breehn on his finalized logo design?  According to him: ‘I was inspired by early video games, jukeboxes and pinball machines. I tried to find a way to say the show takes place in the future but has a warm, smaller feel to it. I wanted the lettering to express the team’s personality as much as possible, and the 8-bit bee is just funny to me. Chris isn’t even sure why he has bee-themed weapons, and he’s not that into it, yet it’s the glorious emblem of his team.’ So that’s what puts the ‘b’ in Bravest Warriors!  What do you think folks? Do you like the final logo? Have a personal favorite? Want to share your own version of our logo? Then you should tell us what you think, submit your version of the logo as fan art and remember to follow us on twitter and subscribe to our Cartoon Hangover YouTube channel for all the up-to-date news! Meet Breehn Burns! Breehn Burns (pronounced BREE-uhn) is our showrunner for Bravest Warriors. Breehn not only oversees the designs, animation, and production of the show, but he was also deeply involved in the writing and storyboarding of every episode. Needless to say, he’s been a busy guy.  Breehn and Pen Ward have known each other since before the Adventure Time days, so it didn’t take a whole lot of thought to tap Breehn as the guy who would preside over the finest of details in Bravest Warriors. In addition to the work he’s done with us,Breehn is also the creator of the incredibly popular “Dr. Tran” cartoons. He’s also llustrated two graphic novels, Aleister Arcane and Gloom Cookie Vol III, and has worked as a screenwriter and concept artist in feature films (geeze where does he find the time)! We’re beyond excited to have Breehn in charge, and we’re already seeing the amazing results of his hard work. Long story short, Breehn is awesome. Which is why you should follow him on twitter, submit some fan art to show him you care, or ask him a question and he’ll answer it directly!
